HO Gas Turbine Locomotive with DCC & Sound, UP #58 (ATHG41243)

HO-scale Union Pacific gas-turbine locomotive with DCC and sound captures UP's late-1950s turbine era and is ready to run or display. It carries period-correct UP detailing such as gray trucks and FARR grilles, with road-number-specific cues for UP 58, including a short nose door and handrails.

Powered by a Genesis gas-turbine driveline, the model uses a 5-pole skew-wound motor, precision flywheels, and a multi-link drivetrain for smooth operation. The sound-equipped version includes an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 and four cube speakers for authentic audio and can operate on both DC and DCC layouts with full CV control. It features razor-sharp painting and printing and McHenry scale knuckles, and is designed for an 18" minimum radius (22" recommended) with MU lashups. The design reflects GE’s postwar gas-turbine program, offering striking power and a distinctive silhouette for late-transition-era UP layouts.
