HO SDP40F Locomotive EMD 268 (ATHG64121)

An HO-scale replica of Amtrak’s SDP40F diesel locomotive representing No. 268, this model provides a faithful, ready-to-run tribute to a historic prototype. Built for model railroading enthusiasts, it combines accurate appearance with practical performance, and some variants include authentic sound for added realism.

On the layout, it features authentic lighting and detail such as illuminated ground lights, classification lights, number boards, and working truck lights, plus see-through cab windows, separate intake grills, and MU hoses. The cab interior is fully reproduced with a control stand, and the model rides on a heavy die-cast frame with eight-wheel drive and RP25 wheels for smooth, quiet operation. LED lighting and DCC-ready Quick Plug electronics (21-pin NEM connector) are standard, with sound-equipped versions adding onboard DCC Tsunami2 sound and dual speakers. Designed for HO layouts with minimum radii around 18 inches (22 inches recommended), the model is fully assembled and securely packaged for storage and transport.
