The model captures period-accurate details such as the late-style anticlimber, snowplow, air conditioner, raised ground-plane radio antenna, dual Xenon strobe lights, and a beacon for DCC layouts, along with a windowless nose door for authentic appearance.

Under the shell, the locomotive combines a Genesis driveline with a five-pole motor, precision flywheels, and a multi-link drivetrain for smooth, quiet operation, while a heavy die-cast frame provides traction. LEDs, RP25-contoured wheels, and all-wheel electrical pickup add to realistic running on HO track. It is DCC-ready with Quick Plug and a 21-pin NEM connector, and features fine Celcon handrails, see-through cab windows with a full interior, MU hoses, trainline hose, and McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible).
