HO GP50 Locomotive C&NW #5091 (ATHG65831)

HO GP50 Locomotive C&NW #5091 (ATHG65831)

HO-scale GP50 Locomotive in CNW livery, number 5091. This model faithfully captures the EMD GP50’s bold profile with a Phase I body and era-accurate detailing, including a nose-mounted gong bell, Sinclair antenna, and a Western Cullen beacon. It features a full cab interior with see-through windows, etched see-through steps, and a heavy die-cast frame for solid stability. Delivered fully assembled and ready to run, it uses McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible), RP25 wheel contours for smooth tracking, and DCC-ready Quick Plug technology via a 21-pin NEM connector for easy decoder installation.

The GP50 was built by EMD in the early 1980s as a four-axle diesel road switcher powered by a 16‑cylinder 645F3B engine delivering roughly 3,500–3,600 horsepower. This model emphasizes authentic paint and detailing, along with a robust Genesis driveline—five-pole skew wound motor, precision flywheels, and all-wheel drive for quiet, reliable operation. Sound-equipped versions add an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2, dual speakers, and full DCC functionality (DC operation also supported). For best results on layouts, plan for minimum radii around 18 inches, with 22 inches recommended for the smoothest, most realistic performance.
