HO MP15AC Locomotive in Soo Line livery (#1535) is an HO-scale model of EMD’s MP15AC light road switcher. Designed for yard and short-haul work on HO layouts, this compact diesel reproduces the prototype’s AC-drive design, including the longer hood to accommodate rectifier equipment and lower forward air intakes. The model features a full cab interior with see-through windows, detailed handrails, and a heavy die-cast frame for traction, delivering smooth, reliable operation. It comes fully assembled and ready to run with a DCC-ready Quick Plug 21-pin interface and performance suited to minimum 18-inch curves.

Sound-equipped versions add onboard DCC decoding with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound and two speakers, delivering engine, horn, and bell sounds in DCC mode while remaining operable in DC. These models offer NMRA-compatible functions, precise slow-speed control, and the ability to lash up multiple units with a lead unit’s horn, bell, and lights. The Soo #1535 edition features period-correct detailing such as ground lights, a cab beacon, and a three-chime horn, along with a small fuel tank and accurate livery to bring the prototype to life on the layout.
