HO GP39-2 Locomotive with DCC & Sound D&H #7404 (ATHG66358)

An HO-scale GP39-2 diesel locomotive with DCC and sound in Delaware & Hudson blue and yellow, designed for realistic, ready-to-run operation on HO layouts. This model captures the GP39-2’s Phase 1 body with chickenwire grilles, illuminated number boards and class lights, Blomberg B trucks with Hyatt bearings, a Leslie 3-chime horn, a small EMD front plow, a large Sinclair antenna, and cab roof rain gutters. It’s offered in three blue paint schemes to reflect different D&H appearances: 7404 – solid blue with yellow plow; 7405 – blue with a solid yellow nose and plow; and 7419 – blue with striped yellow ends and yellow plow.

Inside, the GP39-2 is built for authentic performance and easy customization. Sound-equipped versions feature an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound and dual cube speakers, while DC operation provides engine, horn, and bell sounds with full DCC function control when in DCC mode. The model blends a Genesis driveline with a five-pole motor and a heavy die-cast frame for traction, plus LED lighting, RP25 wheels, and a see-through cab with a full interior and scale handrails. It’s designed for straightforward DCC upgrades via Quick Plug with a 21-pin NEM connector, and CVs are adjustable with an included CV chart. A Primed for grime option offers an in-service appearance to kick off weathering projects.
