HO MP15AC Locomotive with DCC & Sound in UP yellow-frame scheme, road number 1463, is an HO-scale recreation of EMD’s MP15AC light road switcher. Built in the 1970s, the MP15AC used an AC-drive design with an alternator and rectifier, and this model faithfully captures that heritage with a longer hood to house the equipment. The locomotive is designed for model railroad layouts and includes an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound, dual speakers for rich audio, and full DCC functionality while remaining operable on DC power for versatile layouts.

Beyond its drive, the model offers scale detailing such as a full cab interior, see-through cab windows, wire grab irons, and fine-scale handrails, all mounted on a heavy die-cast frame for traction and durability. Quick Plug plug-and-play technology with a 21-pin NEM connector makes DCC setup straightforward, and RP25 wheels ensure reliable operation on HO track with a minimum radius of 18 inches.
