HO Scale MP15AC Locomotive with DCC and Sound in SP livery is a detailed, ready-to-run model of EMD’s compact light road switcher. The MP15AC, introduced in the 1970s, replaced the MP15DC's DC generator with an AC drive powered by an alternator and rectifier for improved reliability, and this SP-liveried version brings that prototype to HO layouts for yard and short-line service.

Onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound delivers authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds through dual speakers for clear audio, and the system operates on both DC and DCC. The model is designed for easy DCC installation with Quick Plug plug-and-play technology using a 21-pin NEM connector, and SP-specific features such as ground lights, a Nathan P3 horn, hood-mounted bell, large fuel tank, SP-style cab number boards, and a full SP lighting package on both ends enhance prototypical visibility. A heavy die-cast frame provides traction and a robust feel, with all-wheel drive and RP25 wheel contours for smooth operation on common HO track. Realistic detailing includes a full cab interior, see-through cab windows, fine-scale Celcon handrails, and a mix of separately applied photo-etched metal and injection-molded parts. The model supports precise slow-speed performance, multiple-unit lashups, and CV customization (CV chart included); minimum radius is 18 inches, and replacement parts are available.
