An Athearn Genesis HO-scale model of the F89-F 89 feet 8 inches TOFC flatcar in Kansas City Southern livery, number 8503, this ready-to-run replica recreates a classic mid-1960s intermodal workhorse.

Designed for intermodal and mixed freight on HO layouts, the car features raised and lowered hitches, a die-cast underframe, wire-formed brake plumbing, and a detailed deck. It rides on 70-ton roller bearing trucks with spinning bearing caps, uses a body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle coupler, and is weighted for smooth, reliable tracking. It includes machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and separately applied brake components. Decorated and fully assembled, the model is ready to run out of the box and is suitable for layouts with minimum curves of 22 inches, with 24 inches or larger recommended for best performance.
