HO SD70M Locomotive Ontario Northland Flared #2120 (ATHG71125)

HO-scale SD70M locomotive in Ontario Northland livery faithfully recreates the ex-NS flared units operated by the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission. This detailed model mirrors the late-design SD70Ms with a flared cab nose, deck-mounted ditch lights, a PTC antenna array, a four-panel radiator body, a small front plow, and trucks with exposed bearings, giving modern North American freight power a realistic presence on HO layouts.

Inside, the model hides a robust drivetrain beneath a heavy die-cast frame for solid traction, with LED lighting, see-through cab windows and a full interior, fine Celcon handrails, RP25 wheel contours, and body-mounted scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible). It’s DCC-ready with Quick Plug plug-and-play 21-pin NEM connectors, and sound-equipped variants feature onboard DCC decoding with Tsunami2 sound for authentic engine, horn, and bell effects in both DC and DCC operation, plus full CV-based control for MU lashups. Scoped from prototype drawings, field measurements, and photographs, the locomotive is tuned for HO radii of 18 inches minimum and 22 inches or larger for smooth operation.
