This highly detailed HO model recreates SP’s Mt-4 class, a mountain locomotive introduced in 1926 for heavy service and later updated with Skyline casing to streamline the silhouette. The Daylight variant adds the vivid red-and-orange scheme from the mid-1940s, making it a striking centerpiece for an HO layout and a faithful tribute to mid-century steam power.

The model delivers authentic detailing and practical improvements for reliable operation: metal handrails, see-through running boards with safety tread, a boiler backhead with printed gauges, and a Laird crosshead tender. It features factory-applied parts, brass-painted piping, lighted number boards, and adjustable cab windows, plus non-operating classification lights and McHenry scale knuckle couplers.
