HO scale Southern Pacific MT-4 4-8-2 Mountain steam locomotive with DCC and sound in the Daylight scheme. This detailed model reproduces SP’s Mt-4 class from the 1920s through the 1950s and can be shown with or without Skyline casing for an era-accurate silhouette. Ideal for HO layouts or for display on a Southern Pacific roster, it blends authentic steam-era styling with modern electronics for reliable operation.

On the rails it offers a 22-inch minimum radius for smooth operation on standard HO curves, metal handrails, an adjustable cab, see-through running boards with safety tread, lighted number boards, and a riveted firebox with full cab interior details. Newer versions add dual cube speakers for richer sound and an LED headlight for brighter daytime running. The sound-equipped model uses a tender-mounted DCC decoder with SoundTrax Tsunami2, delivering chuff, whistle and bell sounds in DC and full DCC functionality in DCC mode; it is NMRA CV-compatible, with a CV chart included for easy tuning. Improvements in loco-to-tender connections and electrical pickup enhance reliability for long, smooth runs on SP-era layouts.
