HO GP38-2 Locomotive NS #5334 (ATHG71728)

Norfolk Southern GP38-2 HO-scale locomotive in NS livery. This ready-to-run HO model reproduces the GP38-2 diesels NS patched into their roster after the Conrail split, capturing authentic features such as operating class lights, lighted number boards, forward and rear ditch lights, and a small front plow. Built to Genesis standards, it includes a full cab interior with see-through windows, scale handrails, and finely painted schemes. It is DCC-ready with a Quick Plug 21-pin NEM connector for easy digital operation, and sound-equipped versions add Tsunami2 sound with dual speakers for enhanced realism. RP25-wheel contours and a heavy die-cast frame provide smooth, reliable running and strong pulling power.

Prototype-specific NS GP38-2 variations reflect real locomotives’ differences, including late-phase features such as corrugated grilles, rear weedcutter plows on some road numbers, angled air filter boxes, and, on select units, a Leslie 3-chime horn. The model is designed for HO layouts with an 18-inch minimum radius (22 inches recommended) and ships fully assembled and ready to run, packaged to protect the model during storage.
