HO GP38-2 Diesel Locomotive with DCC & Sound — EMD Lease 825 is a detailed HO-scale replica designed to bring the late-20th-century EMD Lease era to a home layout. This unit represents Ex-CR #8025 in the mid-phase scheme, featuring chicken-wire grilles, a front Weedcutter plow, maroon fuel and air tanks, and large cab numbers, all bearing the name “The Kristen.” It includes operating class lights and lighted number boards, a fully detailed cab interior visible through see-through windows, and body-mounted scale knuckle couplers for prototypical operation on a prepared track.

Engineered for realistic operation, the GP38-2 uses a Genesis driveline with a heavy die-cast frame and all-wheel drive for smooth, quiet pulling power. It features RP25 wheel contours for reliable operation on most HO track and is designed to run on layouts with a minimum radius of 18 inches (22 inches recommended). The DCC-ready version accepts a Quick Plug 21-pin NM connector, and the sound-equipped variant adds onboard DCC with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 and dual speakers to deliver engine, horn, and bell sounds that work in both DC and DCC, plus full DCC functionality.
