HO GP38-2 Locomotive with DCC and Sound UP #2016 (ATHG71835)

Union Pacific GP38-2 locomotive with DCC and sound is an HO-scale model designed for realistic operation on layout tracks. Represented as road number 2016 in an 1980s UP repaint with larger lettering along the hood, this ready-to-run locomotive captures the classic UP look and delivers authentic sound and control right out of the box.

Built with a host of prototype-level details, the model features lighted class lights and lighted number boards, a Leslie 3-chime horn, and a Xenon beacon; newly tooled roof conduit and coupler levers, a large fuel tank, firecracker antenna, and truck-mounted re-rails. It employs Genesis-grade engineering including see-through cab windows with a full interior, walkways with tread, windshield wipers, lift rings, wire grab irons, and body-mounted scale knuckles. The DCC-enabled version uses a Quick Plug 21-pin NEM connector and an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound, delivering engine, horn, and bell audio in both DC and DCC modes, with CVs for MU lashups and other adjustments (CV chart included). Fully assembled and ready to run, it’s designed for smooth operation on 18" minimum radii (22" recommended) and faithful UP branding and paint schemes of the era.
