HO SD70ACe Locomotive UP #8522 (ATHG75551)

UP SD70ACe HO-scale locomotive in Union Pacific livery, number 8522, delivers a modern freight powerhouse to HO layouts. Modeled after the real SD70ACe—a 16-cylinder, 4,300-horsepower diesel—the ready-to-run model captures UP styling with authentic lighting and detailing for realistic operation on standard HO track.

Detail and performance are built in: see-through steps, etched walkways, lift rings, lit number boards and truck lights, plus flexible trainline and MU hoses with a heavy die-cast frame for traction. The model includes full cab interior and cab detailing, while RP25-wheel contours ensure smooth running on most HO tracks. DCC-ready with Quick Plug 21-pin NEM connectors enables easy decoder upgrades, and some versions offer onboard DCC sound with Tsunami2 and dual speakers for a convincing diesel roar; a CV chart is included for adjustments. Prototype UP features such as PTC antennas and modernized inverter cabinets are reflected in the presentation. A minimum 18-inch radius is required, with 22 inches recommended for best performance.
