HO SD70ACe Locomotive NS #1122 (ATHG75739)

An HO-scale Norfolk Southern SD70ACe locomotive NS 1122, a late-production 11XX-series unit, is a fully assembled, ready-to-run model designed for realistic freight operation on HO layouts. Built in 2014, it features isolated cabs and PTC antenna roofs, along with a late handbrake wheel, anticlimbers, jacking pads and EFCO buttons, plus extra MU detail parts for added authenticity. For this NS order, 175 units were built, most of which remain on the active roster, with nine currently in storage, reflecting the locomotive’s broad use across all types of freight service.

The model embodies Genesis-era detailing and performance, including a robust drivetrain with eight-wheel drive and a heavy die-cast frame for traction, plus all-wheel electrical pickup and RP25-contoured wheels for smooth operation on common HO track. Realistic features include lit number boards and truck lights, etched see-through steps, lift rings, and fine Celcon handrails, along with coupler cut levers, MU hoses, trainline hoses, see-through cab windows, and a full cab interior. It is DCC-ready with Quick Plug plug-and-play technology via a 21-pin NEM connector, and sound-equipped versions offer onboard DCC decoding with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 and dual speakers for authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds with full DCC functionality; a CV chart is included for tweaks and MU lashups. Designed for both DC and DCC operation, the model benefits from a heavy die-cast frame for pulling power, accurate prototype painting and detailing, and detailed fuel-tank features, all while adhering to the 18" minimum radius (22" recommended) for reliable operation on typical layouts.
