Ferromex SD70ACe HO-Scale Locomotive is a detailed, ready-to-run model designed to bring authentic power and color to an HO-scale roster. Painted in Ferromex’s bright red and gray livery, it captures the distinctive prototype look and includes practical details such as lit number boards, truck lights, a nose-mounted headlight, and an early brake wheel. Ferromex released two repainted units in this scheme in 2021 and 2022, with subtle differences that add visual variety to a fleet.

Built for faithful operation, this Genesis-inspired locomotive combines scale-accurate detailing with robust performance. It features a heavy die-cast frame and eight-wheel drive for steady pulling power, RP25 wheel contours for smooth running on common HO tracks, and LED lighting for clear operation in all conditions. Depending on configuration, it can be DCC-ready with a Quick Plug 21-pin NEM connector or come with onboard DCC and Tsunami2 sound with dual speakers for realistic engine, horn, and bell sounds in both DC and DCC modes. The model includes full cab interior, see-through cab windows, and other fine details that mirror prototype practice, and it’s designed to be ready to run on typical HO layouts with a minimum curve around 18 inches (22 inches recommended for best performance).
