This late-production 11XX-series NS unit, built in 2014, faithfully reproduces a modern freight locomotive with PTC antenna roofs and an isolated cab, plus extra MU detail parts for added realism. Fully assembled and ready to run, it features lit number boards, see-through cab windows, etched see-through steps, and other scale-accurate details that help capture the look and feel of a contemporary NS freight power for HO layouts.

Equipped with an onboard DCC decoder and SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound, this model delivers authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds with two speakers for clear, balanced audio, and it can operate on both DC and DCC layouts with full DCC functionality. The locomotive uses a robust drive system with a heavy die-cast frame, all-wheel drive, and precision gearing for smooth pulling power, plus RP25-contoured wheels, body-mounted McHenry knuckle couplers, LED lighting, and detailed underbody features. It supports MU lashups and CV adjustments with an included CV chart, and offers a Quick Plug 21-pin DCC interface for easy setup.
