HO NSC 6400 Gondola — a detailed HO-scale plastic model that faithfully reproduces National Steel Car’s 6400-cubic-foot capacity gondolas used in modern North American railroading. Introduced in 2006, these 69-foot plate-C cars have fixed sides and ends with a solid bottom and are typically used in scrap-metal service, loaded and unloaded by a crane with an electromagnet. The Genesis-era model captures nine build variations from 2006 to today, including multiple body styles, end configurations, top chords, and ladder variations to mirror the prototype’s evolution.

Designed for operation on standard HO layouts, the model includes precise brake piping in metal and plastic, metal grab irons, etched crossover platforms where applicable, and Genesis roller bearing trucks with animated bearing caps. It is weighted to NMRA standards for reliable operation and uses body-mounted McHenry lower-shelf couplers.
