HO NSC 6400 Gondola IWXX Model (ATHG76722)

This HO-scale NSC 6400 gondola model reproduces National Steel Car’s 6,400 cubic-foot capacity open-top freight car, introduced in 2006 for scrap-metal service. The 69-foot plate-C car features fixed sides and ends with a solid bottom, and it’s commonly seen across North America, often loaded by crane with an electromagnet. The model is designed for modern HO layouts, adding realistic capacity and prototypical detail to a railroading roster.

The Genesis line captures nine build variations, along with multiple body styles, end variations, top-chord options, and ladder configurations. Fine detailing includes metal grab irons, etched crossover platforms where applicable, brake piping in metal and plastic, and Genesis roller-bearing trucks with animated bearing caps. Weighted to NMRA standards and equipped with body-mounted McHenry lower-shelf couplers, this model is tuned for reliable operation on typical HO tracks, with a minimum radius of 22 inches and a recommended radius of 24 inches.
