HO NSC 6400 Gondola with Scrap Load is an HO-scale freight car that faithfully recreates National Steel Car’s 6,400 cubic-foot gondolas introduced in 2006. This detailed model includes a removable scrap load for non-covered versions, making it ideal for modern-era freight scenes.

Featuring nine build variations from 2006 to today, it spans multiple body styles, end details, top chords, and ladder variations to mirror prototype diversity. It includes metal grab irons, etched crossover platforms, and authentic brake piping, and rides on newly-tooled Barber S-2-E 100-ton trucks with animated bearing caps and printed road numbers. The car is weighted to NMRA standards for reliable operation and uses body-mounted McHenry lower-shelf couplers for a realistic, close-coupled look. For layout performance, a 22-inch minimum radius is recommended, with 24 inches preferred.
