HO NSC 6400 Gondola with Cover CIGX Model (ATHG76730)

HO NSC 6400 Covered Gondola is a detailed HO-scale replica of National Steel Car’s 6,400 cubic-foot capacity gondolas, introduced in 2006 for modern freight service. This covered version offers a true-load protection look and is designed for realistic operation on HO layouts, presented in the Genesis line to capture the prototype’s profile and features with authentic detailing.

Nine build variations are represented, featuring multiple body styles, end variations, top chords, and ladder configurations, along with etched crossover platforms and metal grab irons. The model includes accurate brake piping in metal and plastic, and rides on newly-tooled Barber S-2-E 100-ton trucks with animated bearing caps and printed road numbers. It is weighted to NMRA standards for reliable operation, uses body-mounted lower-shelf couplers, and is best suited to layouts with a minimum radius of 22 inches (24 inches recommended for smoother curves).
