HO FCA VersaCoil Gondola NS #168719 (ATHG77002)

The VersaCoil Gondola for Norfolk Southern is an HO-scale model of the coil-car designed to haul coils of varying sizes in an easy-to-load transverse trough, reflecting the prototype’s safe, efficient handling on a typical layout.

This Phase 2 NS variant includes removable hoods and authentic detailing such as separate wireform grab irons, etched metal coupler platforms, and 100-ton roller bearing trucks with rotating caps. It features trainline and brake hoses, coupler lift bars, and hardware, all riding on machined metal RP25 wheels with body-mounted scale knuckle couplers and a weighted chassis for steady operation. The model is suited for HO tracks with a minimum 18-inch radius and a recommended 22-inch radius for optimal performance. It faithfully reproduces VersaCoil’s coil-handling design, including removable coils and extensive underbody detail, representing four phases of the prototype’s development.
