HO FCA VersaCoil Gondola (ATHG77015)

VersaCoil Gondola is an HO-scale coil-car model designed to haul steel coils of varying lengths. Its transverse trough loading design speeds loading and unloading while protecting coil edges from damage during train slack. The model reproduces multiple VersaCoil prototype phases, including Phase 1 Canadian Pacific bodies without hoods and Phase 2 versions such as NS, NOKL, and MBKX that feature removable hoods.

Detailing includes separate wireform grab irons, etched metal coupler platforms, 100-ton roller bearing trucks with animated bearing caps, and visible lift bars, trainline hoses, brake hoses, and hardware. Machined metal wheels with RP25 contours provide smooth operation on common track, and body-mounted operating scale knuckle couplers deliver prototypical handling. Weighted for stable performance, the car is designed to negotiate small radii with a minimum of 18 inches and a recommended 22-inch radius for best results. Across versions, removable coils are included, and Phase 2 variants add removable hoods to match prototype configurations.
