HO G2.0 SD59M-2 Locomotive with DCC and Sound, UP #9922 (ATHG80265)

This HO-scale Union Pacific SD59M-2 locomotive with DCC and sound delivers UP’s rebuilt-era power in Building America livery, UP 9922. Derived from SD60M Phase 2 shells, the model features a newly flared radiator, extended step guards, a 4500-gallon safety fuel tank, and a windowless nose door for authentic UP detailing. Road number 9922 carries the US flag and Building America branding, with lit number boards and a detailed cab interior visible through see-through cab windows to bring the prototype to life on the layout.

Designed for realistic operation, this locomotive uses a Genesis driveline with a 5-pole motor, precision flywheels, and all-wheel drive for smooth, quiet pulling power. LED lighting, a heavy die-cast frame, RP25 wheel contours, and scale-correct handrails create a lifelike presence, while McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible) ensure reliable coupling. The sound-equipped version includes a DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound; it runs on DC or DCC, with engine, horn, and bell sounds in DC and NMRA-compatible functions in DCC, plus plug-and-play Quick Plug 21-pin NEM for easy DCC setup. Fully assembled and Ready-to-Run, it’s suitable for HO layouts with a minimum 18-inch radius (22 inches recommended).
