This officially licensed Amtrak model recreates the commemorative 50th Anniversary livery, including the bolt-on nose and PTC antenna farm unique to unit 100. The AMD103/P42 line includes three nose variations—Amtrak as-built, Amtrak rebuilt, and Via—and this edition uses the bolt-on nose configuration. It is DCC-ready with Quick Plug plug-and-play technology and a 21-pin NEM connector, and comes fully assembled and ready to run on HO layouts.

Inside, the model offers realistic operation with a die-cast frame, Genesis driveline, all-wheel drive, and RP25-profile wheels for smooth, quiet running. It features LED lighting, a detailed underframe with air tanks and hoses, and separately applied wire handrails plus a photo-etched radiator grille for added authenticity.
