This HO-scale Amtrak 50th Anniversary Phase I locomotive is an officially licensed Amtrak-painted replica created to celebrate Amtrak’s 50th anniversary. It represents one of five commemorative designs and captures the Phase I livery on the Genesis P42DC, with three nose variations available in the AMD103/P42 series—Amtrak as-built, Amtrak rebuilt, and Via—so collectors can match the prototype they prefer on the layout.

Designed for authentic operation and display, the model is fully assembled and ready to run. It features DCC-ready QuickPlug plug-and-play with a 21-pin NEM connector, LED lighting including ditch lights and red marker lights, and a robust die-cast frame for strong tractive effort. Underbody detail runs deep with air tanks, air lines, and an air dryer, while separately applied wire handrails, a photo-etched radiator grille, and RP25 wheels enhance realism. McHenry scale knuckle couplers and an accurate paint scheme add to the display value, and sound-equipped versions use a DCC decoder (SoundTraxx Tsunami2) with dual 28mm speakers for authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds. The model operates on both DC and DCC layouts, supports MU lashups, and CV adjustments, with a CV chart included in the box for customization.
