HO Scale AMD103/P42DC Locomotive with DCC & Sound in VIA #917 livery is a highly detailed HO model of Amtrak’s Genesis-era passenger locomotive, designed to bring authentic VIA Rail Canada visuals to HO layouts. This fully assembled, ready-to-run unit features officially licensed artwork and paint colors, a newly tooled nose with VIA-specific detailing, and an alternate air dryer faithful to prototype equipment, capturing the teal-and-green VIA scheme and a bright front light added for visibility during the repaint era.

Inside the shell, the DCC-equipped version houses a SoundTraxx Tsunami2 decoder with dual 28mm speakers, delivering engine, horn, and bell sounds in both DC and DCC operation. It uses Quick Plug plug-and-play technology with a 21-pin NEM connector and a Genesis driveline with a five-pole motor, all-wheel drive, and RP25-contoured wheels for smooth, quiet operation. LED headlights, operating ditch lights, and directional marker lights add realism, while detailed underbody features—air tanks, hoses, air filter, and air dryer—enhance authenticity. The model is fully-assembled and ready to run, with a CV chart included for easy programming, and is designed for minimum 18" radius curves (22" recommended).
