HO Scale Amtrak P40DC Locomotive, Phase V, road number 824, is a detailed, ready-to-run replica of GE’s Genesis-series passenger locomotive for HO layouts. It captures the Amtrak Phase V look with a newly-tooled body, cab-mounted strobe lights and emergency light, a five-chime forward-facing horn, and front and rear marker lights, all complemented by Amtrak-approved artwork and period-correct details like a rear hostler window.

Prototype accuracy is reinforced by four nose variations—Amtrak as-built with strobes, Amtrak as-built without strobes, Amtrak rebuilt, and Via Rail Canada units—and road-number–specific antenna configurations. The model supports modern operation with LED lighting and a DCC-ready Quick Plug 21-pin interface for easy decoder upgrades; sound-equipped versions pair a Tsunami2 decoder with dual 28mm speakers, compatible with DC or DCC layouts. Built on a die-cast frame with RP25 wheels and McHenry knuckle couplers, it’s fully assembled and ready to run, with packaging that keeps it safe in storage.
