HO-scale Amtrak P40DC locomotive with DCC and sound in Phase III faded stripe livery. This Genesis-class model captures Amtrak’s modern passenger power, featuring a newly-tooled body with cab-mounted strobe lights and an emergency light (operational in DCC), a single Sinclair antenna, a five-chime forward-facing horn, a rear hostler window, and front and rear marker lights. Amtrak artwork completes the Phase III look, with multiple nose variations reflecting different prototype configurations.

Under the hood, a DCC-sound Tsunami2 decoder powers a Genesis driveline with a five-pole motor, precision flywheels, and a die-cast frame for smooth, quiet operation and strong pulling power. LED headlights, operating ditch lights, and marker lights illuminate the model, while a photo-etched radiator grille and detailed underbody add realism. The model is DCC-ready with Quick Plug 21-pin NEM for easy setup and supports full function control in DCC and DC operation, including MU lashups with lead-unit horn and lights. Four nose variations exist (Amtrak as-built with strobes, Amtrak as-built without strobes, Amtrak rebuilt, and Via Rail Canada). Fully assembled and ready to run, it requires a minimum radius of 18 inches (22 inches recommended) for best performance.
