HO GP7 Locomotive MEC #563 (ATHG82616)

This HO-scale Maine Central GP7 diesel locomotive faithfully recreates MEC’s 1950s freight power in a simplified green paint scheme, featuring a distinctive MEC logo on the front and rear rendered in a newly formulated gold color. It captures period details such as a winterization hatch, full sill skirts, a nose-mounted bell, and tall MU stands, giving HO layouts an authentic early-diesel look.

Under the hood, the model uses a Genesis driveline with a five-pole skew-wound motor, precision flywheels, and a multi-link drivetrain for smooth, quiet operation. It rides on Blomberg-B trucks with authentic bearing caps and RP25-contour wheels for reliable tracking on standard HO track, and features see-through cab windows with a full interior, etched radiator grilles, and fine Celcon handrails for scale realism. The locomotive is DCC-ready with Quick Plug plug-and-play via a 21-pin NEM connector and body-mounted, Kadee-compatible knuckle couplers. LED lighting adds realism, and a heavy die-cast frame provides extra traction and pulling power. Sound-equipped versions add an onboard DCC decoder with Tsunami2 sound and dual speakers, delivering engine, horn, and bell sounds that work in both DC and DCC modes with full function control. The model reflects prototype accuracy, drawing from drawings, measurements, and photographs, and it is suitable for minimum 18-inch-radius curves.
