HO-scale Maine Central GP7 locomotive in MEC’s simplified green livery captures the look and feel of 1950s freight power. This faithful model reflects MEC’s early diesel era, featuring a nose-mounted bell, winterization hatch, full sill skirts, and tall MU stands for an authentic silhouette. Inside, a detailed cab interior is visible through see-through cab windows, while a Genesis driveline with a five-pole motor delivers smooth, quiet operation. DCC-ready by design with a Quick Plug 21-pin interface, it is also available in sound-equipped versions that use SoundTraxx Tsunami2 with dual speakers for realistic engine, horn, and bell effects on the layout.

Designed for HO layouts, the GP7 rides on Blomberg-B trucks with authentic bearing caps, and RP25-contoured wheels provide reliable tracking on most brands of track. A heavy die-cast frame adds traction and weight, while LED lighting and etched details enhance realism. Body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible) keep couplings in scale, and the DCC-ready Quick Plug interface (21-pin NEM) makes decoder installation straightforward.
