HO GP7 Locomotive RDG #629 (ATHG82621)

HO GP7 Locomotive in Reading RDG livery, No. 629, is an HO-scale replica of EMD’s GP7 diesel road-switcher. Painted in the Reading Railroad’s dark green with yellow trim, this model is built for long-hood-forward operation and makes a convincing centerpiece for freight yards or mainline scenes on an HO layout.

Designed for realism and reliable power, it features a Genesis driveline with a 5-pole skew-wound motor, a heavy die-cast frame, and all-wheel drive for smooth pulling. Fine detailing includes see-through cab windows, etched radiator and fan grilles, and scale handrails, plus body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers that are compatible with Kadee couplers and RP25 wheel contours for compatibility with most track. The model is DCC-ready with Quick Plug 21-pin NEM connector and LED lighting for a lifelike appearance, with an optional SoundTrax Tsunami2 sound package delivering engine, horn, and bell sounds that operate in both DC and DCC. Prototype accuracy is drawn from measurements and photographs of Reading GP7s from the early 1950s, and the design is sized for HO layouts with an 18-inch minimum radius.
