HO GP9 Locomotive UP #146 (ATHG82722)

An HO-scale GP9 locomotive in Union Pacific livery, UP 146, designed for model railroaders who want a ready-to-run, highly detailed diesel that captures the look and feel of the prototype.

It features a full cab interior and see-through cab windows, wire grab irons, etched radiator and fan grilles, and a heavy die-cast frame for extra weight and traction. The model rides on Blomberg-B trucks with scale RP25 wheels and body-mounted McHenry operating knuckle couplers for reliable handling on layout curves. It is DCC-ready with Quick Plug plug‑and‑play technology using a 21-pin NEM connector, making decoder installation straightforward; sound-equipped versions add a built-in DCC decoder with Tsunami2 sound, dual speakers, and full DCC functionality, delivering engine, horn, and bell sounds in both DC and DCC operation. Bidirectional LED lighting keeps headlight brightness constant, no matter the direction of travel. Road-number-specific detailing mirrors prototype differences, including UP 146’s Western Cullen beacon and end-numbering variations, with a minimum 18" radius (22" recommended) for smooth operation on most layouts.
