HO ES44AC Locomotive CPR #8781 (ATHG83098)

This HO-scale ES44AC locomotive in Canadian Pacific commemorative livery is built for HO model railroad layouts and ready to run. It uses new tooling from Athearn to accurately reproduce CP's mid- to late-production ES44ACs, including the distinctive CP cab and long hood profile, raised radiator grills and raised heat exchanger, and CP-specific details like no engine-compartment side grab irons. The commemorative paint scheme honors CP’s historic relationship with Hapag-Lloyd on a container service launch.

On the layout it delivers authentic operation with CP details such as PTC antennas, GPS dome, and a large antenna dome, plus illuminated ditch lights and tinted cab windows. It uses a 21-pin NEM Quick Plug for DCC readiness and features a 5000-gallon fuel tank and CP-style exterior detailing. Sound-equipped versions include an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound and two speakers, full DCC functionality, and CV programmability (CV chart included). Built on a heavy die-cast frame for stability, the model is designed to run on HO-track curves as small as 18 inches, with 22 inches or larger recommended for the smoothest operation.
