HO-scale Trinity 3-Bay Hopper in DM&E livery is a detailed model freight car designed for authentic HO layout operation. This replica reproduces Trinity’s classic three-bay covered hopper, offered in two body styles representing 10-panel and 12-panel variations for prototype accuracy.

Fidelity is carried through with authentic details such as a separate brake cylinder, valve and air reservoir with wire brake plumbing, a photo-etched metal roofwalk, and body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. The car rides on Genesis 100-ton trucks with animated spinning roller bearing caps and rolls on 36-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours for reliable performance on most HO track. It is weighted for stable running and has a minimum operating radius of 18 inches. Primed for grime models, this hopper offers a convincing in-service appearance with faded base colors and panel textures, providing a ready starting point for adding grime and rust. Inspired by Trinity Steel’s long-running design, these 3-bay hoppers were built to carry agricultural products, sugar, and other dry bulk goods and became a common sight on North American railroads during the 1990s and beyond.
