HO Trinity 3-Bay Hoppers CAGX # 1 (3) (ATHG97145)

An HO-scale Trinity 3-Bay Covered Hopper, CAGX #1, is a detailed model freight car designed for HO layouts, reproducing Trinity’s widely used 3-bay hopper that carries bulk dry goods such as agricultural products.

Two body styles are represented (10-panel and 12-panel side configurations), with a coupler cut lever and air hoses at each end. The model features a separate brake cylinder, valve and air reservoir with wire-brake plumbing, a photo-etched metal roofwalk, and body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. It rides on Genesis 100-ton trucks with spinning roller-bearing caps and 36-inch machined wheels with RP25 contours for smooth operation on most HO track, and it is weighted for steady performance with a minimum radius of 18 inches. A Primed for Grime variant provides an in-service look with faded base colors matched to the prototype, offering a perfect starting point for adding grime and rust.
