Two body styles reproduce 10-panel and 12-panel variations, with end details like a coupler cut lever and an air hose. The model includes a separate brake cylinder, valve and air reservoir wired into the brake system, plus a photo-etched metal roofwalk for extra realism. It rides on body-mounted scale knuckle couplers, a standard draft gear box, and Genesis 100-ton trucks with animated spinning roller-bearing caps. 36-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours ensure smooth operation on most HO track, and the car is weighted for steady performance with a minimum turning radius of 18 inches. The “Primed for grime” finish provides an in-service look—faded base colors that serve as a ready-made starting point for adding grime and rust. In prototype terms, Trinity’s 3-bay hopper designs (roughly 5,161 cubic feet) were widely used to move agricultural products and other dry goods across North America, making this model a faithful representation of a common, long-lived freight car on North American railroads.
