HO Trinity 3-Bay Covered Hopper No. 1 is a detailed HO-scale freight car designed to reproduce a common North American three-bay hopper used for transporting agricultural products, sugar, and other dry bulk loads. Based on Trinity Steel’s widely produced designs from the mid‑1990s, this model captures the car’s distinctive silhouette and service-ready appearance for realistic modern-era operations.

Two body styles reproduce 10-panel and 12-panel variations, with a coupler cut lever and air hose on each end, plus a separate brake cylinder, valve and air reservoir with wire brake plumbing. The model features a photo-etched metal roofwalk, body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers, and a standard-size draft gear box with a screw-mounted lid. Genesis 100-ton trucks with animated spinning roller bearing caps ride on 36-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours for smooth operation on most HO track, and the car is weighted for steady performance with a minimum radius of 18 inches. It’s primed for grime, providing an ideal starting point for weathering to match prototype appearances—from faded base colors to rust and grime seen on in-service equipment.
