NSC 6400 Gondola with Load for HO Scale Trains (ATHGN12561)

NSC 6400 HO Scale Gondola with Load is a finely detailed freight car model designed for modern HO-scale layouts. Reproducing National Steel Car’s 6,400 cubic-foot capacity gondolas introduced in 2006, this model captures the prototype’s numerous variations, including multiple top-chord and end configurations.

This gondola features separately applied metal grab irons, etched crossover platforms where applicable, and accurate brake piping. It also includes bent-wire coupler cut levers, rubber train-line hoses, and a removable scrap load, all riding on screw-mounted 100-ton roller-bearing trucks. Body-mounted McHenry lower-shelf knuckle couplers mate with machined metal wheels with RP25 contours. The injection-molded body is painted and printed for prototypical realism, and the car is weighted for dependable performance on HO track. It operates on all popular brands of track and requires a minimum radius of 11 inches, with a 15-inch radius recommended for best results.
