This HO-scale NSC 6400 Gondola with Load is a detailed reproduction of National Steel Car's large-capacity freight car, brought to life in the Athearn Genesis line. It includes a removable scrap load and is designed to run smoothly on standard HO track, bringing authentic modern freight operations to the layout.

From the separately applied metal grab irons and etched crossover platforms to the realistic brake piping, this model captures the prototype's detail. Bent wire cut levers, rubber train line hoses, and screw-mounted 100-ton roller bearing trucks complement body-mounted McHenry lower-shelf knuckle couplers. Machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and precisely applied paint and printing enhance authenticity. The injection-molded body is highly detailed and weighted for stable operation on all popular track brands, with an 11-inch minimum radius (15 inches recommended).
