NSC 6400 Gondola with Load is a highly detailed model of National Steel Car's 6,400 cubic-foot capacity gondola, designed to add a modern, prototypical freight car to a model roster. The car captures the prototype with features such as separately applied metal grab irons, etched crossover platforms, accurate brake piping, bent wire coupler cut levers, and a removable scrap load. The tooling reproduces the variety of top-chord and end configurations seen on the real cars, delivering authentic detail across the model.

It rides on screw-mounted 100-ton roller bearing trucks and uses body-mounted McHenry lower shelf knuckle couplers, with machined metal wheels and RP25 contours for smooth operation. The model is weighted for stable performance and finished with accurate paint and printing to enhance realism. It is compatible with most popular track brands and is suitable for layouts with minimum radii of 11 inches (15 inches recommended) to ensure reliable clearance and handling of curves and sidings.
