N NSC 6400 Gondola with Load, AIMX #14057 (ATHGN12572)

NSC 6400 Gondola with Load is an HO-scale model freight car that faithfully reproduces National Steel Car’s 6,400 cubic-foot gondola design for modern railroading on your layout. Part of the Athearn Genesis line, this model includes a removable scrap load to simulate different loading conditions on your roster.

Detail features include separately applied metal grab irons, etched crossover platforms, and accurate brake piping in metal and plastic; bent wire coupler cut levers; rubber train-line hoses; and screw-mounted 100-ton roller-bearing trucks. The car uses body-mounted McHenry knuckle couplers and machined metal wheels with RP25 contours for smooth operation on most HO track. The injection-molded body is highly detailed and weighted for stable performance. It’s designed to run on all popular track brands, with a minimum radius of 11 inches (15 inches recommended) to maintain prototypical tracking. The model captures prototype variations, including different top chords and end variations, and includes a removable scrap load.
