NSC 6400 Gondola with Load is a highly detailed model that recreates National Steel Car’s large-capacity 6,400 cubic-foot gondola for modern freight scenes. This car is designed to run on standard model railroad track and can depict both loaded and empty conditions, with a removable scrap load to reflect changing operating needs.

Faithful detailing includes separately applied metal grab irons, etched crossover platforms, and precise brake piping, along with bent-wire cut levers and rubber train-line hoses. It rides on screw-mounted 100-ton roller-bearing trucks and features machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and body-mounted McHenry lower-shelf knuckle couplers for reliable coupling. The injection-molded body is fully painted and printed for prototypical realism and the car is weighted for smooth running on popular track brands, with a minimum recommended radius of 11 inches (15 inches preferred) to ensure good clearance across layouts.
