NSC 6400 Gondola with Load in N scale — an Athearn Genesis model that faithfully recreates National Steel Car's 6,400 cu ft capacity gondola with a removable scrap load for customizable display. This highly detailed freight car features separately applied metal grab irons, etched crossover platforms where applicable, accurate brake piping in metal and plastic, bent-wire coupler cut levers, and rubber train-line hoses, all crafted for prototypical realism.

It rides on screw-mounted 100-ton roller bearing trucks, uses body-mounted McHenry lower-shelf knuckle couplers, and wears machined metal wheels with RP25 contours. The injection-molded body is precisely painted and printed for realism, and the model is weighted to deliver stable on-layout performance across popular track brands. Minimum radius is 11 inches, with 15 inches recommended for best operation, and the removable load lets you swap out configurations.
