N FCA VersaCoil Gondola Norfolk Southern #168719 (ATHGN13744)

An N-scale VersaCoil gondola car in Norfolk Southern livery, designed to replicate the real VersaCoil’s coil-carrying versatility. The transverse trough design supports coils of varying sizes, enabling safer, faster loading and unloading on a model railroad layout. The model features prototypical NS detailing, precise paint, and a durable injection-molded body built for regular operation.

This Norfolk Southern Phase 2 version includes a removable hood and rides on screw-mounted 100-ton roller bearing trucks with body-mounted McHenry lower-shelf knuckle couplers for reliable coupling. Machined metal wheels with RP25 contours ensure smooth tracking, and the weighted underframe keeps the car stable on curves. The model also includes removable coils, detailed underbodies, etched platforms, rubber hoses, coupler levers, and metal grab irons, with careful painting to reproduce a lifelike NS appearance. It’s compatible with most popular track brands and requires a minimum 11-inch radius (15 inches is recommended) for optimal performance.
