VersaCoil Gondola is a detailed scale model of a versatile coil-car freight car designed to haul coils in a transverse trough. This design speeds loading and unloading and helps protect coil edges during handling. The model faithfully reproduces four of the five VersaCoil phases, with Phase 2 NS, NOKL, and MBKX bodies featuring removable hoods and Phase 1 Canadian Pacific variants lacking hoods.

Equipped with screw-mounted 100-ton roller bearing trucks, body-mounted McHenry lower-shelf knuckle couplers, and machined RP25 wheels, the car delivers realistic rolling action on most brands of track. The injection-molded body is highly detailed and weighted for steady performance, with paint and printing that deliver prototypical realism. Each car includes removable coils and numerous underbody details—etched metal platforms, rubber train-line hoses, coupler cut levers, and metal grab irons—along with removable hoods on Phase 2 NS variants. It is designed to run on a wide range of track brands and carries a minimum radius of 11 inches (15 inches recommended for best results).
