VersaCoil Gondola in N scale is a coil car designed to haul a wide range of coil sizes in an easy-to-load transverse trough, improving loading efficiency and reducing edge damage from train slack. This model reproduces four VersaCoil phases for Canadian Pacific operations, including Phase 1 hoodless bodies and Phase 2 variants with removable hoods to reflect era differences.

The car sits on screw-mounted 100-ton roller-bearing trucks and body-mounted McHenry lower-shelf knuckle couplers, with machined metal wheels that use RP25 contours. It features a highly detailed injection-molded body painted for prototypical realism and weighted for steady performance on most track brands. It can run on radii as small as 11 inches with a recommended 15 inches for best results. The model includes removable coils and an array of underbody details—etched metal platforms, rubber train-line hoses, coupler cut levers, and metal grab irons—with hood variations depending on the VersaCoil phase.
