VersaCoil Gondola Car, MBKX Phase 2, is a versatile HO-scale coil car designed to carry a wide range of coils—from 30 to 72 feet—in a single, easy-to-load transverse trough. The Phase 2 MBKX version includes a removable hood to mirror prototype equipment, while faithful detailing and an injection-molded body deliver a realistic, ready-to-run look on any layout.

It features screw-mounted 100-ton roller bearing trucks, body-mounted McHenry lower-shelf knuckle couplers, and machined RP25 wheels for smooth operation on most HO track. The model is weighted for stable handling and captures a wealth of scale details, including undercarriage work, etched platforms, rubber hoses, coupler levers, and metal grab irons, plus removable coils. The Phase 2 MBKX variant adds the removable hood. A minimum curve radius of 11 inches is specified, with 15 inches recommended for best performance through curves.
